WE WILL GET YOU IN SHAPE!

WE WILL GET YOU IN SHAPE!

Fitness is in! Functional fitness and HIT (high-intensity training), which work out multiple groups of muscles at the same time and don’t even require a gym, are the trends everyone is talking about. VARTA shows you three popular functional fitness programs and has the right batteries and Powerpacks in store for helpful fitness gadgets on your road to getting into the best shape of your life.

Freeletics

Freeletics focuses on burpees, squats, sit-ups and other exercises to let you work out without any equipment or weights. An app that demonstrates exercises and gives you information on reps replaces a personal trainer. The app also lets you measure yourself against other athletes worldwide and gives you a chance to communicate with them. As a result, a fully charged cell phone is a must for a successful workout. Afraid your phone’s battery won’t have enough juice to get you through your Freeletics session? Then plug your phone into a VARTA Powerpack before you get going for an extra energy kick.

CrossFit

CrossFit is also based on using your own body weight to work out, but it adds barbells, medicine balls and kettlebells to the mix. The workout program combines elements of weightlifting, calisthenics, gymnastics, and track and field. This form of exercise originated in the military, meaning that CrossFit trainers also take a drill-instructor-like approach to how they teach their courses. A heart rate monitor watch lets you keep an eye on your pulse and helps make your workout particularly effective. VARTA has the right button cells for your watch or chest strap.

Tabata

This workout takes just four minutes to do, making it perfect for anyone who doesn’t have the time for a long session at the gym. Think it’ll be easy? Think again! Tabata alternates between stress and relaxation phases in an extremely short period of time. Eight 20-second high-intensity exercises are followed by 10 seconds of recovery time. That adds up to four minutes in total. Classic Tabata exercises include jumping rope, high-knee running, squats, push-ups and planks. For this kind of workout, you need a stopwatch, which is usually powered by AAA batteries or button cells.

With these workout programs to guide you, there is nothing stopping you from getting into the best shape of your life. VARTA wishes all of you a great workout!
